A Bit About Me
My name is Emory Emily-Elizabeth Stevens, but my friends call me Emmy.
Ever since I was a little kid, doodling on my workbook pages and talking my parents' ears off about a story in my head, I've been chasing after creativity. In middle school, I decided I wanted to become a professional storyteller—an author, more specifically. By high school, I realized that being able to pay my bills was more tempting. So I did the only reasonable thing and started studying video games!
At first, I just wanted to write the narrative, but it didn't take long for me to fall head over heels for the entire design process. Whether it be the narrative, gameplay mechanics, pacing, level design, sound effect creation, general implementation, or heck, even coding, every part of game design tells a story. Not only that, but it lets other people engage with that story in a way few other mediums can.
As the above paragraph implies, I have my thumbs in many a pie...I've also grown too many thumbs.
By that, I mean that I've worked with Digital and analog RPGs, visual novels, platformers, shooters, and have even published a board game.
The world can be a stressful place. As long as there are people who want to escape it all for a little while and unwind with a controller in their hand, I'll be there to give them the cartridge (I mean, cartridges aren't really used anymore, but I know you'll get the metaphor).
